Sway Berlin: Parisian Charm and Natural Wine
Stepping into Sway feels like being instantly transported to a cozy Parisian wine bar where candlelight flickers, glasses clink, and time slows down. Located in the heart of Berlin Kreuzberg, my goal with this photographic series was to capture not just the physical space, but the raw and intimate feeling. The warmth of shared moments, the deep reds of natural wine, and the rustic charm of olives served in terracotta bowls are at the center of this visual story.
To naturally preserve this effortlessly cool yet unpretentious atmosphere, I chose to shoot digitally with my Fujifilm XT30. Working under incredibly low light conditions, Fujifilm’s legendary color science allowed me to effortlessly capture the soft, golden glow that wraps around the entire bar. Operating without a harsh flash allowed me to focus on the quiet interplay of shadows and candlelight, highlighting the worn edges of the marble tabletops and the beautiful reflections in half filled glasses.
Every single shot in this collection celebrates the spontaneous details of a real night out, from a hand reaching for a cheese platter to deep conversations over a glass of orange wine. Sway is far more than a location, it is a sensory experience. Through these digital frames, I invite you to step inside, feel the unique hospitality, and immerse yourself in the authentic late night culture of Kreuzberg.
