Berlin by Night: A Cinematic 35mm Film Story

To capture this raw nighttime spirit of Berlin, I explored the city with my classic Canon AF35M point and shoot camera loaded with Kodak Gold 200 film. Using a sharp on camera direct flash allowed me to document the unfiltered, authentic reality of Berlin nightlife.

This analog photo series is a visual journey through classic Berlin late night culture. From the bright neon lights of legendary independent cinemas like Babylon to the cozy, glowing corners of local late night shops and Spätis, everything looks more cinematic on film.

I wanted to capture the everyday moments that define a night out in the city, like sharing a quick plate of street food Currywurst with a cold beer or stepping into a retro photo booth on the sidewalk. The warm grain and rich saturated colors of Kodak Gold 200 preserve these fleeting urban moments with a beautiful sense of nostalgia.
