Lago Maggiore on 35mm Film: An Italian Summer Story.

There is something timeless about the Italian lakes in midsummer. The gentle pace of life, the deep blue water framed by dramatic alpine mountains, and the classic riviera charm make Lago Maggiore a dream destination. To slow down and slow the creative process, I documented this trip using my manual Canon AE1 Program SLR camera loaded with Kodak Gold 200 film.

Shooting fully analog in bright sunlight really brings out the magic of Kodak Gold. The film stock renders the warm golden light, lush green palm trees, and vibrant turquoise waters with a rich, nostalgic saturation. From quiet moments at lakefront cafes overlooking anchored boats to sunny afternoons spent on sandy beaches, every frame captures the effortless beauty of an Italian summer getaway.
