The Beauty Below: Berlin’s Underground on Film.
This photo series explores the Berlin U-Bahn through the lens of analog film photography. What fascinates me about these subway stations isn’t just the movement of people, but the clash of functionality and design—aged Bauhaus aesthetics, industrial lighting, worn surfaces, and moments of stillness in an otherwise fast-paced system.
Shot entirely on 35mm film, these images capture the cool tones, textures, and quiet atmospheres of Berlin’s underground. From the sharp geometry of Naueners Platz to the brutal elegance of Alexanderplatz, this work documents a space where Berlin’s history and raw energy meet.
